Improving my cheer jumps...?

i really need to make my cheer jumps better... especially my left hurdler.... toe touch... and pike... i need to get them higher... i would also like them to look really close to hyper extended jumps... i want to get them better by my first competition which is in september... but i have a problem.. .my hips get stuck most of the time so its hard to roll my hips when i jump... i really want them to get better and im willing to work as hard as i can to get them that way... please help if you can... thanks

  1. just stretch out everyday and work more on form then go for height.


  2. my jumps used to be horrendous lol but then i all i did was stretch every night before i went to sleep nd now i have like the second best jumps in both squads soo what im saying is

    jus stretch every night or every day do like the main stretches sit in a straddle in reach down to the middle then reach to the right then the left also sit in a straddle against a wall nd push yourself towards it

    theres this drill that i do sometimes that supposed to help get hyperextended jumps you sit in a straddle nd you place you hands under ur knees nd you try nd lift one of your legs nd hold it for 10 seconds then u do the same to the other

    then when you get stronger try to lift both legs at the same time

    try not to lean back as you do it

  4. Snap-up exercises would help. So would stretching and jumping several times a day.

  5. k first of all, cheerleaders are not what that jeff person said. we work soooo hard as a team. we sweat and we work hard!! also in individual sports you arent a family like in cheer with your team. anyway to get your jumps higher practivce on a tramp and everyday stretch your hips and legs. see if a coach cen help you. (:
