Question:

Improving science ability

I just got a credit in a science competition, getting 25 out of 45 correct. I did badly in "Interpreting" and "Investigating". I would like to know how I can improve overall, but particularily in those areas, thanks.

The other areas were Observing/Measuring, Predicting/Concluding and Reasoning/Problem solving.

I was in the top 28 percent of Year 9 participants in Victoria, Australia and I am willing to do any task, not matter how tedious, to make it to top 1 percent (or around that whatever).

  1. Keep learning and doing science!  Any skill takes exercise to develop.  As you read good science, try to understand how scientists think.  Read some biographies of scientists or histories of science.  The value of acquiring this skill is much higher than just winning a competition.
