I am in 6th grade and I have a science test tomarrow and i need to know wht the definition for impulse is. I need help!! I need to ace this test!

  1. If it is referring to physics, the impulse is defined as the change in momentum. This is the final momentum of an object minus the initial momentum.

    Momentum is calculated by multiplying the mass of an object by it's velocity.

    That seems pretty complicated for sixth grade though, sorry if I misunderstood the question.

    impulse in mechanics is.  impulse is the product of the average value of a force and the time during which it acts,  and this product is equal to the change in momentum produced in the force. although this sounds complex impulse can be show to be derived from  the second law of motoin.
