Pakistani opener Imran Farhat, who has recently been alleged by bookie Mazhar Majeed for being involved into spot-fixing, has decided to take legal action against the crook saying that his claims have appalled him.
“His claims have really upset me because I have always played clean cricket. I am suing him for an apology and damages and also to clear my reputation,” said the left-arm opening batsman of Pakistan.
In the latest happening of the spot-fixing controversy, which started in London in the last week of August during the Lord’s Test, a video was broadcasted by a Pakistani news channel in which the London-based Pakistani bookmaker http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mazhar-c75448 Majeed
has named four more Pakistani cricketers for having been involved in illegal activities in the past.
The 28-year-old Lahore born opener was also one of the four players, other three being the two Akmal brothers – Kamran Akmal and Umar Akmal – and the pacer Wahab Riaz. Majeed, in the video, has claimed that these four players work for him.
Three Pakistani players, Test captain Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir, have already been served with provisional suspensions by the apes governing body, the International Cricket Council, after the same bookie claimed in a video
that the three were paid by him to deliver deliberate no balls during the Lord’s Test.

“I will not stand for this. I don't know about the others but I have decided to sue him and I am consulting my lawyers,” Farhat said.
The PCB and ICC on Wednesday refused to comment on the latest video footage of the bookie. Farhat and Kamran Akmal, the two names from the footage, were dropped by the national selectors for the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754.
The wicketkeeper batsman, Kamran Akmal, has also slammed Majeed for his recent spot-fixing claims and said that he was just an agent for the players and they were not aware of his involvement into bookmaking.
