Imran Khan says Shahid Afridi should lead Pakistan in Test cricket as well
Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup winning captain Imran Khan has once again reinforced the idea of Pakistan’s limited overs captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 to take charge in the Test format of the game as well.
Imran while talking at a gathering of journalists insisted that Afridi who led the national team in the recently concluded ICC World Cup 2011 in the Subcontinent needed to play Test cricket again and improve his leadership qualities. Afridi took the team

“There should be just one captain for all three formats of the game,” Imran said.

futile and should not be adopted by Pakistan.

Imran insisted that the reason Dhoni had matured as a captain was the fact that he leads the team in all the formats of the game which has exposed him to the pressure in all the three formats. Imran believed that Pakistan failed to take the pressure in the
semi-final which resulted in their ultimate elimination.
Previously Afridi had stated that he no longer enjoyed playing Test cricket and wanted to spend more time with his family and focus on the shorter versions of the game.
Salman Butt was appointed skipper of the Test side after Afridi. But later the left-handed opening batsman was entangled in spot-fixing fiasco which saw him being banned from the sport for 10 years.
