After a number of reckless dismissals since returning to the national team earlier this month, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755, has drawn criticism from his ex-teammate, Azhar Mahmood, who is not happy with the stroke-maker’s shot-selection.
Nazir, 30, returned to the international fold during the recently concluded T20 series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 after almost a couple of years.
The right-hander has always been considered to be one of the most talented batsmen in the country but the rush of blood has led to his downfall more often than not. This is primarily the reason why he has struggled to cement his place in the national team
in the last 13 years.
Nazir is an integral part of the Pakistan side for the on-going http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World T20 2012 and the team management is expecting him to give them aggressive starts.
While speaking to Pakpassion, Mahmood feels that the opener can be extremely dangerous if he takes his time before launching an onslaught.
"Imran Nazir is very talented but he needs to use his head – he needs to think that if he faces fifty deliveries he will get eighty or ninety runs, but it seems that all he wants to do is to hit the ball out of the ground from ball 1," Azhar said.
The cricketer from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757. He has so far represented Pakistan in eight Tests, 79 ODIs and 19 T20s, having scored four international centuries.
Mahmood wants Imran to show more application and look to calculate his hitting rather than trying to slog every delivery out of the park.
"What Imran needs to do is to stay at the crease with a calm mind and use his talent. Instead if he doesn’t use his head then he will get those ten or twelve run scores which are not good for the team," he advised Nazir.
Most of the sporting pundits believe that the on-going mega event is Nazir’s last opportunity to prove his credentials. It remains to be seen whether he can live up to the expectations.
