The fact which remains however, is that Nazir lacks the temperament to become a top class opener in a pocket sized format, despite all his talent. One is often left to wonder as to why this is case, as the T20 format considers blocking and leaving to be a cardinal sin. Yet, the damning reality is that opening the batting for any team, regardless of the format, requires a considerable amount of patience, precision and the ability to middle the ball before going for expansive strokes. Nazir however, despite showing considerable amount of promise, has sadly lacked the compactness to deal with the new ball, and has seldom made a contribution which could bill him as a long term prospect for a country that desperately needs astute batsmen.
It is nothing new for Imran Nazir. In the nascent stages of his career, he became susceptible to the new cherry, which was bowled by some of the best bowlers in the world. He has gained notoriety, for flashing wildly outside the off stump and playing some extravagant strokes out of the blue, which has jeopardized his team’s progression towards posting formidable totals.

To the dismay of many Pakistan fans, not much about Nazir’s batting has changed over the years.
