The Pakistani based leg-spinner Imran Tahir thanked his wife and Cricket South Africa (CSA) for their efforts to motivate and legalize the player for the Proteas national cricket team.
He was in a doubt whether or not to return to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 and play domestic cricket. Thanking his wife Tahir said, “I was going back to Pakistan to play, where I was captain for my state. She told me to play in South
Africa, so I don't have the words to explain how grateful I am to her.”
He also thanked CSA saying, “"I'm really grateful to Cricket South Africa. They worked really hard on that from what I know. I must also mention Richard Pybus, Martin van Jaarsveld, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gulam-Bodi-c1512 - these are the people who saw talent in me and encouraged me
to play here.”
Tahir started playing for the Titans in the South African domestic tournament and did well with the team. He was a part of the team when the team enjoyed so much success winning four out of the six trophies and he was a vital part of the team’s successful
run during that period.
He was then left out of the side and he got an opportunity to play for the Dolphins. Playing for the Dolphins, he grabbed 30 wickets in just four SuperSport series matches and also took 15 wickets in the MTN40 tournament.
There were rumors that Tahir will be a part of the final Test currently being played between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and South Africa but those were denied by the South African selectors. He is expected to be selected for the ODI series against India and his performance in
the series may determine his chance for making it to the World Cup squad.
Tahir said that he would love to be a part of the South African team in the World Cup but the decision is up to the selectors. He stated, “Obviously it's everyone's dream to play in the World Cup, and if this happens, I will be very proud, but it's up to
the selectors.”
The World Cup will be played in subcontinent and Tahir’s inclusion can favor the Proteas but only time will tell whether this happens or not.
