I'm guessing we'll be producing our own gas in our backyard... our cars will run on 1 potato per 37 miles!!!! No jkjk basically I think america will be using half gas and half of a new source... the gas will be probably bout... $7.50 because any higher, the money in america will become so unbalanced, maybe causing a second depression.

Well....Here is what I think

People will be using alternative fuels, so the demand of regular gas WILL Be down, therefore they will buy less, and, it will cost less. So, maybe 1.50 or so?

It will get so ridiculously expensive that no one will want to buy it and technologies will start to exist which eliminate the need to such commodities........and speaking of commodities, the open market, like the commodities market, dictate the price of fuel......

I believe that the market will no longer be allowed to dictate what fuel costs because of trading futures......Instead Fuels will be a sold competitively

kelly L what kind of car are you driving i need to get one because to fill my 2008 ford f150 takes my a min of 96 and some change and i have to do that once a week

4 - 8 bucks a gallon.  I doubt it will get much higher than that. They can make gasoline from things other than oil, unfortunately it is very expensive to do so.  iirc the price of a barrel of synthetic oil is around $150.  With normal oil prices at 100dollars a barrel and gas at around $3.20 a gallon range i don't see gas possibly getting to 20dollars a gallon

Also in 10 years i'm sure there will be improvements in hybrid tech that will require much less gas per person and that should drive prices down also.

Considering it's already $3.00 a gallon even here, where the gas prices always hit last, I think in 10 years we'll happily be paying $15.00 a gallon. And we'll probably still have a minimum wage of around $6.00-$7.00. The cost of living always shoots ridiculously high before they raise minimum wage, yet Congress gives themselves raises every year. I probably won't be able to afford to work if they do it like that.

I'd say that in 10 years we will be operating primarily on a entirely different fuel.  Maybe ethanol or soy based...readily renewable.  Gas may still be around for those collector cars and such...but it will be extremely expensive.
