  1. James the I and IV

  2. King James I.

  3. King James--he became James I of England. He was already James VI of Scotland. He was made the heir by Elizabeth I--he was the closest relative, and it was said that Elizabeth might have acted on some feelings of guilt. She had his mother--her cousin--Mary, Queen of Scots--imprisoned and executed, years before.

  4. James VI and I (19 June 1566 – 27 March 1625) was King of Scots as James VI, and King of England and King of Ireland as James I. He ruled in Scotland as James VI from 24 July 1567, when he was only one year old, succeeding his mother Mary, Queen of Scots. He became King James I of Engand and Irleand in 1603 when he was named successor of Elizabeth I of England and Ireland, who died without issue.

He was the first monarch to rule from the House of Stuart, however, although he was King to both Scotland, England and Ireland, he had to rule them separately. Throughout his entire life, he tried to unite both countries under one rule, however, both the Scottish Parliament and the English Parliament remained opponents to each other.

  5. King James VI and I.

James I as the king of Ireland and the King of England

James VI as The King of Scots

He was the cousin of Elizabeth I who had no children and nobody to carry on the crown.  It was then passed to her cousin, James, who was already the King of Scots.  He then inherited the King of England title and from then on Scotland and England was joined together.

  6. James VI of Scots and James I of England

  7. King James VI.

Queen Elizabeth was a frigid cow who never gave birth.

She executed her cousin Mary, Queen Of Scots too late.

Mary had already given birth to James in Edinburgh Castle and passed him through a window to loyal servants who sneaked the infant through the English siege lines.

When the barren Elizabeth died, James was next in line and took the throne of England in the name of Scotland.
