Something I've always wondered, why WESTERN countries decided to open the flood gates and allow mass immigration like they have -- resulting in the problems ALL WESTERN COUNTRIES are having.

I found the details of the 1965 IMMIGRATION ACT spearheaded by the Kennedys that changed everything here:

http://www.cis.org/articles/1995/back395.html

You can see by reading the article that it wasn't supposed to be this way, supposedly, and the charts showing the problems it's caused.

But why? How has this benefitted ANY WESTERN country?

  1. If is legal immigration it is welcome but not illegal immigration because we don't have any control of it and everything could come and is no good for us the citizens.

  2. Liberals percieve themselves to be saviors of humanity.  Thus, when they give something away like money, citizenship, resources, etc, it makes them feel better about themselves.

  3. immigration isn't about whats best for the country, its about whats best for the oppressed people of other countries yearning to be free ;)

  4. If it wasnt for mass emigration there would be no U.S.A.So I guess its benefited them more than most.

  5. LBJ the forgotten President during a dark time in the history of America was a spearhead his whole life against discrimination.

Many times the intend gets lost with gread which appears to happen a lot.

LBJ signed the bill, not JFK.

Plus like the founders of our country who could tell that a new national past time would come about, sneaking into the USA.

Who could tell that another country would help their people to sneak into the USA by printing maps?

Immigration is fine when it is controled, people follow the laws and done lets says in an orderly manner.

It is not fine when people refuse to follow the law, want their country within another country and demand rights when under the law, they are lawbreakers.

Quote the President of Mexico,"Where there is a Mexican, it is Mexico."

Let an American President say that and the whole world would be down on us!

  6. It seems that you are upset because the ethnic mix has changed. Is that true?

  7. Most of us don't want mass immigration.

  8. I didn't know that!  Very interesting.  As I've heard b/4 they can pass all the bills they want, but what good are they if not enforced?  We need citizens here in America that's ready to go the extra-step and demand these laws be enforced.

  9. Benefits of immigration: They're labor. They're consumers, so they help to drive the economy --same as you or me. They pay taxes (There's dispute about this. Legal Immigrants pay taxes. Not all illegals pay taxes, or at least all of the taxes that a legal resident would. But MANY do, and if they work, they pay into social security --and that's not money they'll ever be able to lay claim to. So they're helping to fund social security without hope of benefiting from it later on.). They bring culture and new foods and flavors with them. It's hypocritical to be anti-immigration if you're American --it's the backbone of the country. If you're not native, then you descended from immigrants who were trying to give you the same good life current immigrants are struggling to give their posterity.

What are these problems that all Western countries have because of immigration? You didn't specifiy.

  10. It has not benefited this country.  I must say IF the laws would have been enforced strongly way back when, we would not be having the problem we are today with ILLEGALS.  We MUST enforce our laws, period.

  11. Have you ever heard of Brain drain? yeah well been the receiving country, is actually good for us, when you refer to "resulting problems' is there any in particular that you are referring to?

    Some of the benefits are as follow;

entrepreneurship: foreigners tend to be more risk takers

    new ideas

    larger work force

    cultural enrichment

So what exactly is wrong with the 1965 immigration reform? I think is outdated, I belive we should have a more work oriented than family oriented system today.
