  1. 26.

  2. 28?

  3. When Mr.Joe and other has given clearcut equation and answer  , how I wonder that still others could give wrong answers.

  4. x + 28 = 2(x+2)

    x+28 = 2x + 4

    28 -4 = 2x-x

    24=x

    24 years

  5. 60?

  6. 26

    (26+2+28)/28=2 (twice as old)

  7. 12?

  8. 102.

  9. Do your own math homework lol

  10. He is 26.

  11. 24.

    2(x+2)=28+x

  12. -678

  13. 12 i think

  14. 12 YEARS OLD

  15. x+28=2(x+2)

    x+28=2x+4

    28=x+4

    24=x

    24 years old

  16. 12. 28/2 = 14 - 2 = 12

  17. 24 YEARS

  18. 26 ??????

  19. Joe's equation is correct because twice as old as he will be in 2 years is 2(x+2).  2x+2 means twice as old as he is now plus 2 years.

    If he is 24 now then in 28 years he will be 52.

    twice what he will be in 2 years is also 52.  In 2 years he will be 26. Twice 26 is 52.

  20. 26

  21. 28

  22. 12

  23. Is their a prize?

  24. Are you getting us to do *ALL* your maths lesson for you?!? Not to sound like your mum or anything but you're never going to learn anything that way!

    Btw, I reckon your man is currently 24 years old. All you need to do is take the question and rewrite it as an equation, thus:

    Suppose your man's current age = x, therefore...

    x + 28 = 2(x + 2)

          28 = 2x + 4 - x

    28 -  4 = 2x - x

           24 = x

           24 = the man's current age

    Okay I have taken this question and read it, re-read it, turned it on its head, played with it, pulled it apart and put it back together again; now that's it: I'm going with 24!

    The maths itself is easy; the way it's written and worded makes my head spin! Talk about confusing and muddled: did you get this out of a book/from a teacher? If so, I'd go with another book/teacher next term then maybe the questions'd be clear enough for you to work out without needing to cheat and get us to do them for you!

    Okay I'm going to go with the fact that we obviously speak very different variants of English, *grin*.

  25. He's 26, in 2 years he'll be 28, and 28 years later he'll be twice as old as he was 2 years after he turned 26. xD
