I'm hoping a lot more of them will run on natural gas instead of gasoline! I have 2 of them now, made by Ford, that don't use a drop of gasoline or oil, and I wish the idea would catch on. It's a lot cheaper and cleaner to run these cars than gasoline cars. They look and act like any other car, too, so there's nothing freaky about them; just a different fuel type. That's my 2 cents!

Hopefully in 5 years, the government and the common people will realize that the hydrogen and ethanol campaigns are not worthwhile, and that hybrid and diesel/hybrid technologies will dominate the market. External changes wont be much, but technology will help with fuel efficient tires, better transmissions to allow more effective use of the smaller powerplants and hybrid technology. Finally, perhaps things like the old 55mph laws will resume, and folks may finally learn that taking it easy while driving will result in fewer accidents, less fuel spent, and less fatigue on arrival. There is no need for speed, period. Expect more keyless entry types like available on certain Mercedes, Nissan, and BMW vehicles ( I wager there are others, but only remember those offhand) Finally, there may be improvements in safety restraints, perhaps even full body airbag type systems to help protect the torso and legs more. they will look neat with more LED lights, sleeker lines and more mpg, the sizes will be trimmer.

in the inside others will copy ford's SYNC, then there will be more plastic rubber interiors.

under neath will be the same dated frames and power trains.

More fuel economy. Worse looking, more plastic and cheap stuff. 5 years isn't that long ways away. I like the classic cars. I'm going to be buying a 87 RX7 turbo this week. LOL
