In 6th pay commission the age of retirment is going to be increased from 60 to 62?

if it is so is the person should apply for extension who is going to be retir on 30 june 2008

  2. Originally, there is no proposal in the 6th Pay Commission recommendations to enhance the retirement age from 60 to 62 years. However, the government at the Centre is in such a position (read condition) that just a right kind of pressure can fetch even that which is not recommended originally!!

    In your case of retiring on 30 June 2008 - just 7 days away, there appears no chance of any final take by the date on any of the issues recommended or likely related to 6th Pay Commission. So, if someone retires on 30 June 2008 and even if retirement is extended to 62 years of age but the decision comes after 30 June 2008, the said retiring person won't be benefited by such decision. Therefore, if you wish an extension of service, you must apply for the same without deliberating on 6th Pay Commission aspects.
