In 7th grade track???

Question

what do you do in 7th grade track? like, how many meters do you run, and how many hurdles do you jump etc etc

7th grade track? Every school and every day varies. Track is broken up to 3 or 4 categories. Sprinters - run 50 - 400 meters (you have to be really fast), mid distance and long distance .... self explanitory all about stamina and jumping. I dont believe there hurdles in 7th grade but im not sure.

my sister did tack in m.s. and this is what she did:

shot put

long jump

high jump

hurdles (there were 4 and they were like no higher than 3 ft...not that high)

4x400 (4 ppl run 1 lap...1/4 lap each)

4x1600 (4 ppl run 4 laps...1 lap each)

that's about it. they ran at least a mile each practice...mostly depending on your event. hope that helps

Well, it depends a lot on what race you do.

Around me, the middle-schoolers have multiple events they can run in.

There are sprints, which are:

55 meters

100 meters

200 meters

400 meters

There is a mid-distance race, which is 800 meters, and there is a distance race, which is 1500 meters.

There is one hurdle event, the 55 meter hurdles, which i believe is 3 or 4 hurdles.

There are relays, which are the 4x100 meter relay (each runner runs 100 meters) and the 4x400 meter relay.

There are also field events, which are the shotput, long jump, and high jump.

It's important to note that each area has a slightly different set of races, so don't memorize this list, only to have your event not be there for you to run.

you dont do hurdles...

its just 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter, and 1/2 mile

it depends on your school. If you're in california its usually 65m hurdles.
