In 8-ball pool, if you pocket the cue ball, the opponent takes the ball and puts it on the designated side?

right? Is it true that you have to take out one of your other balls and place it on the dot?

  1. In bar room rule he would put it anywhere he wants behind the headstring.Some people play ball in hand which states if you scratch,your opponent gets to put the ball wherever he wants on the table.Makes a scratch a much more damaging mistake and quickens the pace of the game.


  2. If you are calling your shots, and pocket your ball plus the cue ball, you have to put that ball as close to the dot as you can get. The opponent place the cue ball, anywhere behind the line, on the side which you broke from.

  4. If you make one of your balls and scratch at the same time...You than have to spot the ball you made on the spot...They your opponent will have ball in hand unless your playing bar rules and in that case your opponent can place the ball anywhere behind the break dot...
