ex. If no balls have been pocketed, and I strike the one ball with the cue ball and the cue ball travels on and pockets the 5 ball, is the ball spotted or does it count?

  1. Simple Answer to your question;

    Y             E              S

    Slop counts if you hit your intended ball first

  2. In 9-ball, so long as the cue ball hits the intended/object ball FIRST, it can then hit and pocket any other ball...

    ... thus, your 5 ball counts!!!

  3. Good on the one you could make 5 balls they all count thats how i win 60% of my games combo on the 9 usualy you get called a headhunter cons.to be very aggresive play

  4. The shot is good providing that in the rules discussed prior to the game you do not have to call your shot.  If you play by calling the shot then the ball you attempt ot make has to fall and anyothers made with that shot have to be spotted.  There are several variations of 9 Ball and rules..........I hope this will help

  5. in 9 ball if u r shooting at the 1 or what ever if it is it first any balls that goes in counts if 9 goes game is over

  6. I think you actually have to make the lower one in first....so if the 1 ball goes in...and then the 5 goes...it should count. 9 ball doesn't start up for a little while yet, so I'm not positive!

  7. Yes, the 5 stays in or any other ball....exception being the cue ball.....even if you miss the object ball and knock in another ball it stays in.....unless it was the 9 ball....it gets spotted......around this area these rules are called "Texas-Express" nine ball rules.....to speed up the game...especially for TV.....hope this helps.....good luck on the tour!

  8. As long as you call the shot it's good. Slop it in and it gets spotted.

  9. The cue ball can hit any ball if it hits the intended ball first.  So, yes, you may sink the 5 ball after the 1 and keep shooting.

  10. Yes indeed. As long as you hit the next ball in rotation first, anything that falls after is a good shot. It is a legal shot and you get to keep shooting. Pockets do not need to be called in nineball.

    In nine-ball, on all shots, a player must cause the cue ball to contact the lowest numerical ball on the table first before the cue ball strikes any other ball (excepting when a push-out has been invoked; see push-out); otherwise a foul has been committed. This does not mean that object balls have to be pocketed in order; any ball may be pocketed at any time during the game, so long as the lowest numerical ball is contacted first. Because nine-ball is not a call shot game, the 9 can also be made in this manner for a win. A player also wins the game if the 9 ball is pocketed on the break (a "golden break").

    Players alternate innings at the table, meaning play continues by one player until he or she misses, commits a foul or pockets the 9 ball for the win. The penalty for a foul in nine-ball is that the player's inning ends and the opponent comes to the table with ball in hand, which means the opponent may place the cue ball anywhere on the table prior to shooting.

  11. the ball counts and u get to keep shooting. if you pocket the 9 ball after hitting a lower numbered ball u win depending on the special/custom rules of the game

  12. It counts.  It think you can combo any ball as long as your useing the lowest ball on the table to combo with.
