  1. Dr. Manette was in prison in France, but Lucie was taken to live in England after her mother died.

When Dr. Manette was freed, Lucie and Mr. Lorry go to France to bring Dr. Manette home (Lucie had thought her father was dead).

Dr. Manette and Lucie live in England, where she married Charles Darnay. (Charles and Lucie met on the boat going to England from France. She had to testify at Charles' trial for treason in England.)

Charles Darnay goes back to France to help a former servant. He gets arrested.

Lucie and her father with Miss Pross and little Lucie go to France to help Charles Darnay. They stay in France until Sydney Carton - finallly - sneaks Charles Darnay out of prison and takes his place.

While Sydney Carton is being held in Charles' place, Mr. Lorry takes Dr. Manette, Lucie, little Lucie and Charles Darnay back to England to live. (I believe Miss Pross and Jerry Cruncher go back to England separately.)

Though it doesn't specifically say where each takes place, you can get an idea at this Tale of Two Cities http://www.holycross.edu/departments/edu... timeline. It's rather interesting.
