In APA style format, do you site the indirect paraphrase?

I know that when you are using an indirect quote, you're supposed to credit the person who actually said the quote, but also site the source that you found the quote in. Well, are you supposed to credit the original author/authors when your source paraphrases the information? Like say your source (let's call him Erikson) said the following and you wanted to quote your source:

Black shirts look better than white shirts (Jones, Jackson, & Smith, 2006).

So what would you do here? Would you mention Jones, Jackson, and Smith at all? Or would you just quote Erikson without mentioning them, like this:

According to Erikson (2008), "Black shirts look better than white shirts" (p. 30).

  1. You would to use the term "as cited in". Here is how it might look...

    According to Jones, Jackson, and Smith (2006), "Black shirts look better then white shirts" (as cited in Erikson, 2008, p. 30).
