threats are sent to the vault and what do you do when the vault is full? I do not know what to do with the items listed, should I simply empty the vault or are there other steps to rid my computer of these warnings and infections. Please help in simple instructions as I am not computer literate.

  1. You can delete all those threats in the vault,

The reason to put them in the vault is to protect some files you don't want to loose. but most of the time those theats are not in your personal files. so delete them all.

  2. One you quarantine items they are safe you can empty the vault anytime it does not restore the virus its the same as emptying the recycle bin.

  3. The way Windows works, if a file is "in use", it can not be deleted. When AVG finds a virus file that is "in use", since it can not delete it, it moves it to a special directory (called the Vault) from which it can not be loaded or used in the future.  Once moved, the next time the computer is booted it will not longer be "in use" and AVG can delete it when you empty the vault.

You should empty the vault after the next reboot anytime you move a virus to the vault.

  4. The vault won't fill until your computer runs out of space, so don't worry about that (unless you are really really low on space).

It's just quarantining the items it found and making them inaccessible  in case it quarantined something it shouldn't have so that you can go in later and get it out if you ever discovered that one of your programs didn't work because one if its files was detected as a virus.
