In Adelaide (Australia), if there is a car damage of more than $1500..should there be a police report ?

i was involved in a minor car accident with no police report.. i was driving my mate's car who hasn't got any insurance..so yeah the insurance sent me a bill of $1900.. but it wasnt all my mistake..the fault was 50-50.. it has been a more than a month now... what should i do ?? plss help..

  4. I am not sure how its handled in Australia but here in the U.S.,

    you should always cover yourself by getting a police report down on paper, just in case something s******g comes up. It wouldn't hurt do this. Here in this country you have two years to do so. Check it out with the local police and ask them.
