    There is a lot of agriculture south of the Sahara.

It did and has..  South Africa has a significant agricultural industry.  Prior to the 1950's, Kenya, Rhodesia and many other African countries were exporters of agricultural products.  But the bloody wars since then, along with the huge population growth, has strained all of their infrastructures.  Once the wars stop, you will be amazed at how much food Africa can and will produce.

  3. there is no source of food that will sustain their fertility forever. that is why they emmigrate
