I have an American friend that is visiting Nigeria and has had an accident . she has no insurance and no way to pay for the medical care .They are requiring her to pay 60% of the bill befor they will release her to return to the USA . What are her options .

  2. There is not much of an option at this point maybe call the embassy for assistance.

    This is a little late but maybe this will help your friend and others in the future. Anyone traveling away from their home country should purchase a International medical policy that is designed to cover anyone outside their home country. The best bet for international coverage would be International Medical Group, IMGlobal.com. Visit the website then call the 800 for assistance.
