It's the time of day that the programme is broadcast in the 'real' world. So they must have something else on, surely?

  1. Dum de dum de dum de dum.

  2. Farming today

  3. Ambrige is home to the poshest farmers in England.I think that listening to the radio would be beneath them.

  4. A programme called "The Bowmen" which was specially created to be heard on the set of "The Archers" at 7pm each weekday.

It's about a fictional village called Bumbridge, with a house called "g*y Gables" and characters like Walter Gaybriel in it.  However, there's is no-one as irritating as Shula in it.

  5. Hi there.

The village of Ambridge is an experimental community set up by the BBC over 50 years ago. Every house and part of the village, including telephones etc, is bugged and a distilled version of what has happened released each evening to allow us to follow the experiment. All swear words are removed, for instance.

The inmates are allowed controlled television but not any radio except for music stations. It is like The Truman Show, except real.

I have been listening for many years and it became apparent to me a while back that what I was hearing MUST BE TRUE. The rest follows.

    Cheers, Steve.
