  1. That's because the idea for drafting women was shot down by lawmakers in the early 1980s. In my opinion, nobody should be forced to register and nobody should be made to serve in the military.

  2. i would proudly serve my country if wwIII happened

  3. because even if you drafted a woman, you couldn't forcibly make her take some sort of contraception.. so she could easily get pregnant and have to be sent home.

Not saying that all women would - by no means! It's just that the draft is an involuntary means of recruiting for the military and there will be several people who want no part of the military.

Women will never be drafted (not that I think there will ever be another draft) but, if there were.. America would not draft women.. there is too much of a bias against their strength (physically and emotionally) as well as too much of a "need" to "protect" them, and being that many lawmakers are men.. they wouldn't agree to it.

  4. I don't know why men aren't complaining: they should be.

I think it may be because Americans tend to be more jingoistic and blinded by the "America - love it or leave it" ideology.

Canadians  would be busting a gut laughing if our government ever tried that one us.  It would be like herding cats.   Nobody would even bother to put their beer down.

  5. I wasn't sure, so I checked. Yes, only men must register for Selective Service.

Hmmm ... it doesn't sound very fair to me.

  6. Government = slavery

  7. Its a hold-over from the Viet-Nam sexual revolution era.

Although i'm past that age, I wouldn't have any problem with women also registering for the draft.

No doubt if there was a draft in effect, it wouldn't be long and young women would be required to register also.

If I had a daughter, and it was required... she'd be registered.

  8. i agree with rovale

  9. I, and most feminists, think that if men should forced to register, so too should women.

It's not feminism keeping this one from happening, it's the all-male military establishment. Put blame where the blame lies.
