Does other countries describe people using two colors from the crayon box? Two colors that people really are not. Should Chinese people be required to check yellow?

  1. Those terms are generally considered to be non-judgmental and non-threatening.

Of course, if prejudice or perceived persecution exists within a person's soul, then almost no terminology will be deemed acceptable.

  2. Color in many situations is used as a synonym for race...a generalization of source that does not take into account ethnicity, etc.  I remember a song from when I was a little girl....Red, and yellow, black, and white, they are precious in his sight....Jesus loves the children of the world.  I never assumed that song to be racist or hurtful....but maybe to some it is.  As stated in the previous answer, I don't think the 'labels' are meant to be derogatory...but as with anything...that lies in the eye of the beholder.
