  1. Americans are thick

  2. Well in Canada you aren't supposed to plug anything into that bathroom plug except a razor...It says on it RAZOR only...but many people including myself plug the blow dryer and other things in it...

  3. England has fairly strict rules about what electrical things can be fitted in bathrooms - in fact the only thing are eclectic shavers, which have been adapted.

As for electrocution actually you are more likely to die if you are elecrocuted in the UK...

  4. Beats me.

  5. oh yeah cos that makes logical sense, you only get electrocuted by placing it IN THE BATH filled with water, and it would only be possible in the 50s, because since then they invented something called health and safety which means its impossible to get electrocuted now.

  6. You can have a hairdrier in the UK or the US provided it's the type where the electrics are fixed to the wall.  You're not supposed to use a plug-in type in either territory if you can touch the plumbing.

UK wiring regulations won't allow any type of electrical socket in a bathroom except for a shaver socket with an isolating transformer.  US regulations are less severe because the lower voltage is less dangerous, but you're still not supposed to have a power socket near the wash basin.

  7. No. The USA uses 110 volts, which - evidently - isn't enough to cause such severe muscle contraction that you wouldn't be able to remove your hand.

  8. ITs dangerous otherwise. UK are safety conscious

  9. In the USA, the voltage is 110 and it won't kill you whereas in the UK, at 240 volts, IT WILL KILL YOU if you get a shock from it - and that's particularly easy in a bathroom with all those lovely water pipes going straight down into the earth. Touch one of those when there's an electrical fault on ANY appliance in use in there and you are BROWN BREAD - dead ! ! !

  10. The UK uses 220-240 volts, much more likely to kill you than the 110-120 in the US.

  11. UK is a nanny state and doesnt credit us with the intelligence NOT to let the hairdryer fall in the water

  12. This depends on the laws and rules of the country. Some countries follow strict rules because of the main religion of the country. There may be a religious cause in the UK or something.

  13. Just common sense, water and electricity..stupid idea.

  14. Why is it not possible in the uk?? Never been there, but you can't have a hairdryer in the bathroom?

    thats crazy.

Maybe people in the Uk electricute themselves alot.

  15. look at the plugs, if they've only 2 pins that means no earthing, you can easily get electrocuted. most of european countries uses 2 pin plugs.

  16. Stupidity rules.

  17. mayba UK is more strict than America...

  18. you guys cant have hairdryers inthe bathroom.that sucks. sorry.
