In American football, how can i tackle harder?

Ok, well i can already tackle okay......

But not hard......

Any tips or how to, weight lifting, anything????/?

  1. well you should generally squat bench and hang clean and that will get youre like hitting muscles up then it comes down to form. what i like to do is hit the ballcarrier in the stomach area with my shoulder and get my arms behind the knee and then drive through at full speed. but yea that should help


  2. I used to do a similar drill but with a heavy punching bag. I would hit that thing with all my strength about a hundred times a day. I would also push a car up a small hill while in neutral. This helped me out with endurance and power especially when you push it, let go, push again, let go, etc. Just be very careful on this drill and make sure somebody is at the wheel so that they can break in case you can’t go on. I think I’ll go push a car right now while I have a six-pack.

  3. Weightlifting: -Olympic Lifts(Power Clean, Snatches, Jerks,etc.)

                        -Squats, Deadlifting, Bench Press and all Variations

    Tchnique: Lower shoulders and drive your shoulder padsthrough the opponent once contact is made. This means extends knees, hips, ankles, and pushing the ball carrier back. Don't forget to wrap up.

  4. Bulk up, run fast and hard, show no mercy. 8 0 )

Well aim for the legs if they know your about to hit them, because if they know your about to hit them, they'll run into with more force, but if their catching the ball in the open field, then aim for the chest, that way you can lay them out, because their concentrating on catching the ball not on you

    uh. ram dude. weight lifting will make you slower and  ya you'll hit harder but you won't have the boost that gets you to the ball carrier to make an impact. So just build up some momentum and ram the guy. just think your playing madden and hit stick him.

  13. Honestly it all comes down to how comfortable you are with your gear. If you feel nervous or timid about getting hurt then your never gonna be able to lay the big hit. If your already comfortable then your gonna want to be doing explosive workouts. Jump squats are great, just put on about 135lbs on your squat bar, and squat down as far as you can and "explode" and jump as high as you can. Power cleans are great to. They are far more important to the game then benching is, as much as everyone thinks they are bad asses for doing. I could bench only 265 as a lineman, guard and d-end, but I could power clean 265 as well, which gave me an over all strength advantage on the field. Also there is a drill called the crusifiction, which is illegal now in most states, but, if your coach is as crazy as man was then he wont care. Just line up 20 yards away from a guy with his arms out and his head down and sprint as fast as you can and drill his ***. Making sure he has padding on the ground behind him though. Its a great way to get used to layin' hat
