My son started at Coles around 18 months ago - at 15 1/2 yrs old - his starting rate was about $8.95 an hour.  He's up to $10.05 now last time I looked at his payslip.

You'll get time and a half on Sundays (not sure about Saturday, I think so) and triple pay for 3 days of the year (like public holidays) can't remember what ones, maybe Easter Monday was one.

You also get a discount card that gives you 5% off at coles, kmart etc .. actually there's heaps of discounts you get with it.  cheaper movie tickets etc....

When starting at Coles or Kmart you do an induction course online - takes a couple hours but you get paid for it!
