  1. The Strand buys books of quality that people still want, either good used copies or fine rare editions.

Paperbacks must be in new condition, hardcovers must be in good condition.

They also buy scholarly and academic books, but NO school textbooks, magazines, or journals. We do not accept donations.

The buying counter is open Monday through Saturday 9:30 AM.-6 PM at our Broadway and 12th St. location only.

  2. Yes, I sold some books there a short while back. But call them first because they take different books at different times. Like when I sold they were looking for old map guides, any year, no idea why. And do-it-yourself books, plus a long list of others. So, yes, call them first. You get a percentage of the cover price. And DVDs are $1 and CDs are a little cheaper. It might be different at your B & N. Good luck.
