I know it has something to do with your relievers, but I always forget.

It may be the other way around, not sure.

  1. They say go for the tie at home, because if you tie the game, you will have a good shot at winning because of the support of the home fans.

On the other hand, if your on the road, its the opposite. The fans are against you and momentum is hard to come by. Thats why you should go for the win.

    Hope this helped.

  2. its one thing if you can beat a team at home, but if you can beat them on there own turf is impressive

  3. Well on the road the opposing team has last at bats in the bottom half of the inning meaning they can end the game without your team getting another opportunity.  At home you always have the last at bat.  On the road you get ahead and put the pressure on the other team to produce runs, this is why you want to go for the win on the road.  At home, you play for the tie and you always have last at bat to win it in walk off fashion, this is why you play for the tie at home, if you're tied your team always has the last chace to win the game.

  4. The home team bats last in an inning.

So lets say your down by 1 run in the 9th inning:

If you are the visiting team, you want to take the lead, this puts the pressure on the home team and if they don't score, you win and they lose. If you only tie the game, there is no pressure on the home team because if they don't score, the game will go to extra innings and they have another chance.

However, if you're the home team, down by 1 in the 9th, the most important thing is to score the tying run. Once you do that, you guarentee that you won't lose the game this inning. If you can score another run in the inning and win, thats great, but at least you have forced extra innings and given yourself another chance.

  5. If your tied at home you will have a chance to come to bat and win the game.  On the road, if your tied, they have the advantage.

  6. they say that about football.... not baseball

  7. ive never heard that saying before
