In Basic when they issue you stuff do you have to pay for it

like the soaps, shampoo, razor, shoe cleaner, and all that stuff do they deduct it from your pay???

Those basic toiletry and hygiene items you must pay for yourself.  You can bring as many of them as you want with you to basic, but once you begin, you will be given the chance to go to the PX and buy whatever you need as well.

Yes they do i know when my husband came back from basic training her had showed me a super huge list of stuff he had to pay for.

In the U.S. Military,  YOU will be issued  a type of debit card then you can purchase your supplies at the pX/BX.

In YOUR military, you need to barter for balut, bagoong, rice, patis,etc...

yes - you pay for all your supplies and uniforms. They are deducted from your 1st pay.

You either bring them with you, or you pay for them at the shopette.

You will be issued a pre paid charge card to use, to buy those items.

But the amount on the card, comes out of your pay.

You even have to pay for your uniforms while in basic.

But you are given a one time $1,500 uniform allowance to pay for them.

So you don't actually ever see that $1,500.

no free lunch in society.  they took $600.00 out of my first check.  my recruiter told me to bring those things with me, they made me buy it anyways.  

keep in mind your given a clothing allowance of around to compensate, so it hits your pocket, but its not that bad!

Yes you have to pay for it.

A debit like card is giving to you as stated above. When I went I took all of it with me but ended up buying it anyway. Even tennis shoes, when they figure the arch that your feet have they will give you the proper ones to wear during basic. They run you through a line and you pick up everything that you will need. Some good advice try to get as little stuff with scent as possible the bugs love them and the DS end up pouring them out on your nicely waxed floor when they do a locker check. It will come from your pay but since it is already deducted its like you never had it.

Ya man you did not say what countries Army? As for the US all the above are pretty right. You will get a chance go to the PX and you will pay for it,and the stuff they issue uniform wise they will charge you for in your check.  Tapos na.

Yes and no.

You should go to basic with approx 50 in cash. They will give you a "smart card" that has about 250 dollars on it (its NOT free money...it does come out of your check later)

They do issue your boxers, so dont worry about that. But they will give you everything you need...either they issue it to you, or they give you the money to buy it...the military gives you every tool you will need.
