I've just started watching the new series of Battlestar Galactica and am rather enjoying it, but I don't understand why neither Commander Adama or Admiral Cain seem to respect or take command from President Roslin? Obviously she was 43rd in line and therefore they may not think she's due any authority over them, but considering how much they usually abide by the chain of command, should they not still take orders from the rightful President? It's starting to really p**s me off!! Lol.

  1. In one episode Adama screams at his son Lee that Laura Roslin is just a school teacher.Adama and Roslin make an agreement early in the series that he makes all the military decisions and she controls the civilian fleet. While Adama obviously has the hots for Laura he doesn't always respect her judgment.

  2. It's early yet in the Galactica's voyage, and yes, Adama did chafe a bit in the early days under Roslin. Trust me, they both reach an understanding. Pardon the expression, but "you will respect her authority"
