In Big Brothers Big Sisters, can males be paired with females and vice versa?

I seem to be only reading about how women are paired with girls and men are paired with boys. Is this just the standard, or can I request the opposite gender child?

  1. no, they keep the same sexes together, so there is less of a chance for any hanky panky to happen.
