I know that he died during that film. My b/f told me that Bruce Lee was still alive during the scene he fights Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. While my friend says that it ISN'T him, but a double. Which one is right and why so I can explain to my friend and b/f?

  1. yeah he is the last boss at the top of the pagoda, he trained under Bruce Lee for a while before Lee died, he leaves a huge foot print on his chest.

  2. MOST of that movie was shot using a body double- the only footage that was shot was the end of the movie where he climbs the pagoda.

the whole movie actually was a different plot from what bruce lee wanted, originally it was a team of fighters which lee was one of them attacking the place, beyond that not much is known about lees' original vision.

there isn't a final script, just rough drafts and notes.

PS: finally a bruce lee quesiton that is actually something of value.

  3. yes that is Bruce Lee..Kareem was a student of Bruce Lee's.

  4. I am pretty sure that it is him.

  5. yes its him they usually shoot movies not in the order of the sequence in the scripts editors usually do that

  6. Since most movies don't have their scenes shot in chronological order, it definitely was Bruce Lee fighting against all of the opponents on each floor, especially his student, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

I think that since Bruce "Li", the actor used to complete the films after Bruce Lee's death looks exactly like the real "dragon", it's tough to determine when he was used in that film.

  7. Yes, that is him. The film was not shot as it is shown. The double is quite obvious in scenes Bruce did not do before he died. I think a kata champ was the double, maybe George Chung.

  8. It's Lee.

He finished the scene with Abdul-Jabbar.  There are other scenes in the film that are NOT Sifu Lee.

  9. In the movie "Game of Death" Bruce Lee decided to shot the end of the film first, the four or five fights with Bruce Lee and two other guys going from floor to floor fighting the masters. At the top is Kareem. That is Bruce fighting all through that. But before the rest of the begining of the movie could be shot, Bruce died.

There are two renditions of this movie. One is only 20 some odd minutes long just featuring Bruce and the footage he was there to shoot. The other movie is some crappy stuff (it seems thrown together) featuring a double who won't take his motercycle helmet off.

Sounds like your Boyfriend heard this but has only seen (and knows about) the shorter version.

  10. The Bruce Lee v. Jabbar was Bruce.  Even though the final edit of the fight was probably not as Bruce intended.   In other parts of the film, they used a body double and a cardboard cut-out.
