In CA, what are the proper documents that need to be carried at all times in a commercial truck?

  1. You need a CDL, log book, insurance at least that is what you need in Illinois


  2. And... If you are under a load you must have the bills of lading(BOL) or manifest. If it's hazmat you need the proper permits from the state and feds. You need the green rule book and yellow or orange hazmat book.

  4. Registration, proof of insurance, license, log book, emergency kit (at least 3 of those weighted reflector triangles, flares, etc.) fire extinguisher, and a couple other things I forgot.
