In CANADA, in grades 7&8, what history do the students learn?

I have co-op, and my placement is an elementry school for history, and i just wanted to quickly bruch up on the stuff they learn in history.

Canada's first explorers like Samuel de Champlain.. and other things.. life as an early settler.. all the earlier things.. don't recall doing many things that were recent

Well it was prolly 15 years ago, but we learned about explorers, young colonies, slavery, European life, the major trading cities of the world, world religions, native history all between gr. 6-8.
