Montreal (13-6, 9-10 ATS) and Saskatchewan (12-8, 10-10 ATS) squared off twice in the regular season, though they haven’t met since early August. The Roughriders opened their season with a wild 54-51 victory over Montreal, but the Als got some revenge by winning 30-24 in the rematch.

Both quarterbacks were excellent in those games. Darian Durant threw for 926 yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions in those games, while adding another score on the ground. Anthony Calvillo threw for 620 yards, six touchdowns and one interception. The turnovers were instrumental; the winning quarterback from each game didn’t throw a pick.

Montreal is here after beating Toronto 48-17 last week. Calvillo was typically brilliant, racking up 334 yards and two scores. The key, though, was offensive balance, which Avon Cobourne provided. The running back scampered for 163 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.

Saskatchewan topped Calgary 20-14 last week despite a quiet game from Durant and the offense. The Roughriders totaled just 291 yards in the defensive struggle. The Riders were great on the other side of the ball, limiting Calgary’s high-powered offense to just 315 yards.

Statistically, the teams are almost perfectly matched. Saskatchewan scored 27 points per game this season; Montreal 28. Saskatchewan allowed 27 points per game this season; Montreal 26. Even their yardage totals are very tight, with one exception — rush yards allowed. The Riders have been burned on the ground all season, allowing 126 yards per game. Calgary running back Joffrey Reynolds racked up 52 yards on just 10 carries against them last week, so Cobourne could be a major factor this weekend.s
