In California if you are pulled over?????

I was pulled over by a Bomb Squad Officer in an unmarked SUV on the freeway. He gave me a ticket. I didn't even know he was a police officer. It was 5:45am, dark still, and I was alone. He was following me for about 10 minutes. I didn't know that he wasn't some crazy man tailgating me. So I sped up. Can he give me a ticket in regular clothing? Unmarked Car? He is Sacramento County, and pulled me over in Placer County. Anyone know a website that has laws about this stuff? Any advise? Thanks.

If it was an unmarked police unit, and you honestly didn't know it, you have a legal right to call 911 and tell them to send police because you suspect that someone may be impersonating a police officer. When you do eventually pull over, make sure it is in a well lighted area, with plenty of people around. Nowadays, more weirdos are trying to impersonate police officers and attack unsuspecting citizens.

Yes they can. An unmarked unti can give you a ticket.

And if at anytime you think its not a true officer you can call 911 and ask to see if any untis or unmarked units are in the area.

Was it a Black Tahoe with 2 lights on the back if it was it was the SPecial Task force team

You don't say what the ticket was for. Was it speeding?

How did he determine speed? Radar gun? Highly unlikely if he's bomb squad. Did he clock you? If he gave you a ticket for speeding due to the fact you sped up when he started following you go to court and protest the ticket. Maybe you'll get a sympathetic judge.
