Question:

In Canada, are credit cards smaller?

I recently received a Matt & Natt Montreal wallet as a gift only to realize that my credit cards didn't fit in it!

I want to write to them to make them aware of their mistake but fear that they did it on purpose to fit the dimensions of Canada's credit card. Although their choice in size makes no sense to me [why not make them bigger to attract a wider span of consumers?] it really does seem that they didn't have the international customer in mind.

Thanks!

  1. All the credit cards are sized according to their credit limit.  Seeing that your cards don't fit, you must have student model.

  2. I have a Matt & Nat wallet - there's one slot where I have the same problem as you (I've crammed my driver's license into it), but other than that everything fits. Maybe you received a defective model?

  3. Credit cards here in Canada are the same size as in the US.  The wallet you received isn't meant for credit cards but rather for the photos you get in one of those booth-things.  It is not permitted in Canada to make wallets that fit credit cards.  The Leader has stated that she prefers that we use coin-of-the-realm.  And so we do.

    Here are some other things about Canada that you might not know:

    -you may have heard that Canadian football has only 3 downs but it really has 4.  It's just that we like to punt on 3rd, to be safe;

    -In Toronto it is illegal to have a pizza without meat except in the Church & Sherbourne area where all pizzas must have broccoli

    -the Canadian national soccer team is the only FIFA member that never plays a "home" game because no matter where in the world they play, there are always more people supporting their opponent

    -In Quebec, provincial elections are called the "Pepsi Challenge"

    -Canadians prefer to make love "doggy-style" so that both parties can watch the hockey game

    -In Canada according to law, 40% of the songs played on the radio must be by Celine Dion, the Guess Who or Edward Bear
