In Connecticut can one be involunarily committed to rehab?

for alcohol and drug abuse if they are out of control and are a threat to themselves or others? how do you go about doing this?

    and rehab would not take them.

    It would do zero good to force someone.  If they do not want to go, it would do them no good.

    Talk to an addiction counselor or go to some Alanon meetings to understand the addict better and find out what you can actually do.


  2. In most states, you need 2 and sometimes 3 other people to say in court that you all believe the person should be placed in a facility.

    Otherwise, the person would have to be arrested, and then have sessions with a psychologist, and then they have to find an opening at an institution. This process could take a while.
