  1. he does when you look for traps


  2. It is the player's job to bring up things like this. Some GM's however, will go ahead and make rolls for things like that if there is something noteworthy in the room.

  3. If there is something that he thinks you may not notice when entering a room, he may roll it himself but most DM's I've gamed with will ask the player to make a perception roll.
