In DBZ CCG, what is endurance?

Some cards have an endurance number in the text, and I was wondering what exactly endurance does? Say I have an attack card with endurance 2, how is endurance applied?

If you declared a Tokui-Waza (meaning you are using only one color of card + freestyle cards), then you use Endurance. Endurance allows you to, when taking damage, remove that card from the game to prevent the next X life cards of damage.

For example, let's say you took an attack that did 4 life cards of damage. You reveal the first life card, and it has Endurance 2. So, you remove that card (1), apply the Endurance (2, 3) and then you have 1 more life card of damage to take (4).

Another example, just because it can be confusing: let's say you took an attack that did 17 life cards of damage. You take the first life card (1), the second (2), and then the third card has endurance 3. You choose to remove it from the game to use endurance (3), and then apply the endurance effect (4, 5, 6). You now have 11 more damage to take.
