I got two kittens from a woman who posted an ad in the paper; I've had them for one day, and the little boy kitten had to be put to sleep this morning because he was tremendously sick. In the course of one day I've spent $350 on treating this kittens, that doesn't even count their regular shots and supplies. I have a gut feeling that the little girl kitten is going to end up like her brother, and I cannot afford the treatment she may require. Where, in or around Syracuse, can I bring her so that she can receive treatment?

  1. www.petfinder.com

This website is a great source that links all the shelter and rescue groups in your local area.

    I hope that this helps.

  2. Welcome to the world of free kittens. Lots of people get reeled in by free pet ads.  Now you know there is no such thing. You should have never gotten a pet if you couldn't afford vet care. Also, if you had adopted from a shelter, you would have gotten a healthy, vetted kitten with a health guarantee for about $75. I'm very sorry about the kittens. If you can't or don't want to arrange payments with a vet or borrow some money and save this kitten, you may have to turn her over to animal control.  She may have to be put down, but that would be better than suffering.

  3. The Humane Society, ASPCA etc. in your yellow pages should help.   Call the vetrinaian that charged you the $350 and ask them for the Phone number to your local shelter all big cities have them.   They might even be able to fix whats wrong with her for very little money based on your ability to pay. Don,t panic & don't give up on her yet.  In the mean time keep her warm and feed her good food , make sure she is not dehydrated, by pulling up the the scruff of her neck. If the skin does not go immediately back down into position, she is dehydrated and you need to give her water with an eye dropper  or syringe very carefully  so she doesn't choke.  Give her about 2-4T every 1/2 hour and keep checking her sruff response.  I hope things work out well for you.
