Ok so here what I have:

Plasma Tv --- 2 HDMI slots

Rogers Digital Box

PS3

Harman and Kardon Reciever ( 2 HDMI In, 1 HDMI Out)

5 Polk Speakers.

I have it hooked up however it is not right I can tell. The sound coming from the back speakers isnt that great and even the front ones is kind of questionable. Im not using my HDMI cords and I have 3 of them.

Could somone please explain the best way to hook up these things so there all working together with top notch performance it would be more then appreciated.

Thank You to whomever finds a way to help me.

  1. I dont think your problem is with the connectivity of your hdmi wires.I think your problem is your speaker setup and configuration. This can be fixed one of two ways. If Your a/v reciever has a speaker setup program with a mic to configure all the speakers you should run it. If your a/v reciever dosent have a speaker settup program i reccomend using A THX OPTIMZER. This is a speaker setup program certified and created By THX LucasFilm. This program can be found on any THX certified DVD. Some of the dvs include: Terminator,Toy Story,Pearl Harbor,Speed,The incredibles and much much more. After you run the setup program your problem should be fixed. Im highly expirienced on any topic Related to Home Theater. 2. If it were me... I would connect everything to the receiver, then run an HDMI out to the TV.

The HDMI from the digital box (assuming the digital box has HDMI) and PS3 will send the surround sound audio along with the video.  Your receiver can pump the big sound to your Polk speakers and the HDMI output to the plasma will send it all to the TV in one tidy cable.

As long as you don't have to run long distances (technically "long" in HDMI terms is over 16 feet) You should be getting the best possible signal with that setup.  (There are of course solutions for long runs too)
