Question:

In EXCEL, how do I add 1 hour to each cell of a column of times, formatted as hh:mm?

I've tried all sorts of things, but it's not working for me this time.

It would be nice if I could just highlight a column and add 1 to each cell.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  1. Enter data for at least 3 cells in the column

    Select the 3 columns

Bring your cursor to the bottom right of the bottom-most cell

Your cursor will change to a +

Click and drag downward as far as you need

  2. i dont use time very often

but try this if you already have a bunch of times, that you just want to add 1 hour to:

    - assume your time is in cell A1 and more times down the column

    - copy&paste this formula in B1

    =TIME(HOUR(A1)+1,MINUTE(A1),0)

    then copy&paste down the column.

    - then copy the range in column B

    - right click on A1

    - click paste special...

    - click values

then you can delete column B

or (if this is what you mean)

    - if you type a time in A1

    - copy&paste the same formula (above) into A2

    - then copy the formula in A2 highlight down the column &paste

    - then do the paste values thing(see above)

    good luck.
