Just interested, I mean they seem quite different, the South seems more rural, but has London, and the North is more industrial but has more cities to visit!

  1. southerners prefer to live in the south northerners prefer to love in the north

  2. The South  is most popular

  3. Actually, there is a much greater rural area in the North. I'm from the South and prefer it. I prefer it because there are more cities. I love both London and Bristol. Smaller cities like Bath, Canterbury and Exeter are great too!

I like big cities in general and I think the North can be proud of Manchester. It's a fabulous city. I also like Birmingham, which is in the Midlands, though to me it feels more Southern than Northern.

  4. what! roger you liar!

south has more to see. north has more nature and wildlife, south has the heart of england, it has much more history especially london. walk down a street and your walking through the remains of hundreds of eras!

yes its cheaper to live up north

but to be fair down south theres always something to do. better quality of life

  5. tough one this having lived in both for long periods. Quality of life and image appear to matter the most down south plus every one is busy and rushing around and wrapped up in their own little world. Up north people have a laid back approach move a lot slower have time have more trust and are friendly so it is a more cordial life style, Yep its a few degrees colder but think my preference is north and if i want the country side or idyllic villages we have that to. Oh and beer is a lot cheaper.

  6. north, more country side, north Sky's, and we are more happy on weather  -17 * is hot to us - down south they frezze

  7. The north of course.

  8. The North is just as rural, if not more rural! I'd choose the North any day, but there's often a lot more employment opportunities in the South.

I find that the North has a lot more friendly people, and people are more willing to help each other out.

  9. Black people prefer to live in the south while white people prefer to live in the north.  There is what is called North-South divide.    Black people are richer in England and they seem to control everything while white people have started emigrating to Australia or the USA.

  10. SOUTH!!!!

Once you get past Watford Gap...the smell!!!

    hahaha ;)

  11. the north has a lot of rural areas too...i personally prefer the north.

  12. I lived down south for the first 19 years of my life (in London and then Kent) and then moved up to leeds for university. I ended up staying so have been here 8 years now. I much prefer the weather down south but it's cheaper to live up north. I find people are friendlier up north when you don't know them but then they're pretty much the same once you're friends!! Northerners seem very proud to be northern and some seem to have a problem with southerners, whereas southerners aren't too bothered either way! There's a lot of beautiful countryside up north but it does also have more cities. Hope this answers your question!

  13. north without a doubt most people in the south think north is manchester thats because they have never travelled north for long enough. whilst most people north have travelled south as far as one could go and still prefer north

  14. South is warmer than the North.

Weathers **** in the South but at least it aint like Winter permanently.

  15. if your selfish and greedy the south

if your thoughtful and caring the north

  16. Both areas have big cities and plenty of rural areas. More expensive in the south despite our government suggesting Northerners move there! I live in the midlands which is great as it is close to everywhere! If I moved though I'd head up north rather than down south. The northerners I've met are all a lot more relaxed and friendly than the southerners I've met but that's just my experience and I'm sure it's a slightly biased view!

  17. Most people prefer to live close to where they have grown up.

But for many they have to move both to the North or the south for many reasons such as work prospects, career moves, housing costs, or where the wage earning partner or spouse lives etc.,

When they are established and settle down either north or south they are usually content wherever thy are.

  18. I live in the midlands. :(

  19. I like both the same, I have lived in the north (hull) since i was born and haven't known anything else. I like down south as well ie devon cornwall. The whole of the uk is great.
