  2. The US DOES use the Metric system, it also just happens to use the Imperial system as well.

    Technically the English Imperial system.

    That certain individuals don't use the Metric system or didn't know that it is in use in the US doesn't mean it isn't.

    Congress actually started passing laws that introduced the Metric system to the US in the late 1800s.

    So it's been around quite a while, some folk just aren't up to speed.
