In Family Adoption/Legal Guardianship?

Question

Has anyone come from the situation of in family adoption? I have and am curious of the issues you have faced both as a child and as an adult because of this.

Yes, we are adopting our twin grandchildren. my husband and I are in our 40's and was not planning this but son is in jail for a few years and the mom well. shes on and off of drugs and whatever else. We just couldn't live with ourselves knowing that these two innocent babies were adopted by strangers. We are glad that we are doing this and very much enjoy them they wear us down but every night when I put them to bed I look up at the sky and thank god that they are with us. The only real issue that we got is being tied down. I feel that our babies are adjusting well theyre at their terrible twos so alot of discipline going on but, thats how they learn from right to wrong I ordered the dvd 1-2-3 magic which does help.

I have one sleeping in the crib in his nursery, but he doesn't have much of a vocabulary yet, nor does he type anything that makes sense yet.

yes i adopted my brothers wifes son and it has been a very diffucult road, but every child deserves a home. Just make sure your in for the long haul. Love and care for the child as if they were your own.
