In Final Fantasy X, how do I know how many destruction spheres do I have ?

You can only hold one sphere at a time. They only tell you that a billion times (despite your pockets and your other hand, for some reason). So, you only get one per temple, I'm pretty sure. You're supposed to use that sphere to get something in each temple, you do not get to keep them. The only cloister I was able to figure out how to use the destruction sphere for was Macalania, and I don't even remember how I did that, but all I got was a luck sphere. So, don't beat yourself up about it too much.
